Ban Man Pro
Version 6 and higher introduced country geo-targeting of
banner advertisements. This feature allows serving
specific banner ads and advertising campaigns to specific
countries. Ban Man Pro resolves each
individual IP address to the respective country
using geo-targeting data. This data is not
supplied with Ban Man Pro, but rather must be
purchased from a 3rd-party provider. We
recommend the following provider:
-
MaxMind (MaxMind GeoIP
Country
Database, .CSV format)
-
MaxMind
(MaxMind GeoIP
Region Database,
.CSV format)
-
Maxmind (MaxMind GeoIP MetroCode database,
.CSV format)
The cost of
the Country targeting data is US$50 the region
database is $150 and the Metro Code database is $220.
Geo Targeting is the
process of serving banner ads to specific users, if
and only if they are located in the target location.
Their location is determined by resolving their
computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address to the
geographic location where they reside. This is
accomplished by looking up their IP address in a
master list that resolves IP's to location.
This ad serving technology allows you to focus your
ads in specific locations for more targeted
advertising. For example, you could run an ad
campaign and serve it only to people who are located
in a specific country such as the United States.
Or, you could target an ad to a specific state such
as California. Finally, you could even target
to a specific US city such as San Diego. You
may find that your advertisers are willing to pay
higher amounts for this targeted advertising. |
